I have several of CoLight's videos, but this was my first DVD purchase from them, so before going into the vid itself, I thought I'd meantion a few things about the format. First, my player did NOT appear on the list of those you go to from the link Ed provides, but I took a chance on it anyway since I've never had a problem playing DVD-ROMS from other companies. I had no problems here, either. The only drawback of the format is that you have to select each segment individually rather than watching them through a "play-all" option. This has its pluses and minuses, but Ed tells me that he has improved his disc recording capabilities and starting with Nadja's latest, "Fortunes of Nadja," the DVDs will have a "play-all" feature.
As for the package itself, this now one of my favorite CoLight recordings. Nadja is a stunning, sultry blonde smoker of the highest calibre who obviously relishes each and every cigarette. The first segment is "FAQ and Corks" which runs 17 minutes. It's the longest scene, and the only one in which Nadja smokes cork-tipped cigarettes (Camels)which she says is her regular brand. The interview itself is fairly standard with the usual questions (When did you start? How much...etc.) but Nadja's beautiful smoking more than makes up for any lack of originality. Next is the "Casual" segment, but it is anything but. The consentration here is on Najda's sultry style and teasing dialog. I only wish there were more of it! She takes deep, lusty drags off her all-white Marlboro Menthol lights (which she smokes from here on out), sometimes as many as three on top of each other, savoring her smoke and the camera's attention. Nadja wears "Fur" in the third section, and is as elegant as anyone could wish. More of those killer snap inhales of hers and multiple-pumps. She teases you to approach her at the club and "smell the sweet smoke that rolls from my lips" (her favorite phrase). The fourth segment is called "The Stuff of Dreams," and is, in my opinion the weakest of the 5 sections. Ed is asleep and Nadja appears in his dream as a syren of smoke, feeding him the billowy clouds of her heavy exhales, teasing all the while, and ending in a smoky kiss. The only thing I found unappealing about this part is that we only see Nadja in profile, though there are some nice close-ups thrown in. It would have been nice if the camera put us in Ed's possition, so we could've gotten some nice, RAY shots. But that's just me. Still a nice fantasy segment, and easily skipped on the DVD if it's not your cuppa. Finally, my second favorite segment, "Home at Last." Nadja enters as if just getting home from work, and is already finishing a cigarette. She immediately finishes and lights a second, wishing she could smoke at work. What highlights this last section is the amount of dangling Nadja does, something I simply LOVE to see. Soon after her arival she gets a phone call, and keeps her cigarette between her beautiful lips for nearly the entire time. The one-sided conversation is interesting to listen to, and the only drawback is, here again, we see Nadja only in profile. But her dangling and continued high-style smoking talents more than make up for the lack of various angles. Over all a superb offering from a great company, and without reservation it gets my highest recommendation. (Please, Ed, give us a sequel...SOON!)
